I built a dulcimer from scrap wood. I saved the cutoffs because they had some interesting shapes. I mounted them on a piece of mat board backed by foam core. It sat around for over 5 years in the corner of my office.

The local Art Show/Contest, sponsored by the Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC), is an annual event in October. I decided to frame my recycled-scraps-into-art and enter it into the Art Show. I didn't win anything but it motivated me to frame the piece. The piece is titled, "Not a Dulcimer," and now hangs in our dining room.
